The Minx Penthouse Party got off to a flowing start, with the original penthouse flooding in Melbourne’s freak Saturday night storms, the night before the party! As the room was obviously water damaged we had to hastily find another penthouse suite to suit our needs, after all the party MUST go on rain hail or shine… literally. We ended up settling into a large 3 bedroom penthouse with amazing city and Yarra river views so we were all happy to take in the Moomba entertainment from the balcony, shame the fireworks were cancelled due to the bad weather. Regardless the rooms were starting to heat up inside with all the sexy guests arriving. After a few wines the girls hit the bedroom to try on and model the showcase of sexy costumes supplied by the lovely Tara at Intriguing Costumes – and let me just say they all looked amazing, sexy nurses, French maids, referees, school girls, playboy bunnies and cute kittens! Once the table top catwalks had finished it was straight back to socialising with every room and balcony filled with some regulars and loads of new couples. It truly was the best minx party to date with 50 amazingly hot guests and heaps of positive friendly energy… can’t wait until the next one, they just keep getting better and better.

The facts about swinging and swingers with Nova
Hughesy and Kate have been learning about swinging from our fave swinger Chantelle Austin. She even hosted brekky producer Sacha and button pusher Ash at a swingers party on Friday night (see pic of the three of them ->)! She runs a blog at chantelleaustin.com and this is one of her latest entries on misconceptions about swinging and swingers...

Swinging is becoming a hot topic and I thought it might be a good time to clear up some of the misconceptions people have about swinging and swingers... These are not the only misconceptions but they are some of the ones I've been hearing lately, or have experienced myself. So here it goes...
1. Despite what you might think, swingers are NOT all old, fat and ugly... Based on my experience, the majority are between 25 and 40, some are in model condition and others have fuller figures but many are quite sexy. There is a good mix of your average person and your professional, parents and business owners. There are all types who engage in the lifestyle so you really can't stereotype what a swinger looks like.
2. Just because a couple swings, doesn't mean they'll have sex with just anyone or everyone. I've personally found this. Some men automatically think that because a woman is a swinger, that she’s available and will want to have sex with him. If they thought she was married and unavailable they'd treat her with respect. Many swingers are no more “easy” than the average person. Some are, some aren't, but it's not a given.
3. Swingers generally aren’t nymphomaniacs. They aren't looking for their next fix to throw down on a bed and take willing advantage of. It's like when some guys find out a woman is a prostitute, they automatically treat them like a slut and assume they'll have sex with anyone... oh, and love it! Not the case... Yes, swingers generally like sex, they may be more adventurous than the average couple but they don’t necessarily NEED sex 3 times a day.
4. “Swinger”, doesn't mean “free to sleep with other people alone”. The female counterpart of a swinging couple often gets asked by guys “so when can I have you to myself?”. This is one of the quickest ways to get stuck off the “potential” list. If you ever get invited to join a couple, respect the relationship and the people in it; it's a privilege to be invited.
5. Many swingers like to flirt but it doesn't mean they are ready to rip someone’s clothes off and jump into bed with them... Swingers tend to be a little more flirtatious and free spirited, and while there are exceptions to every rule, in general it means there is an interest but not necessarily a rush to take it further.
6. Just because they swing, doesn't mean they are into kinky sex or fetishes. Granted, some are, but it's not a given. Some couples don't swap for intercourse and some only have sex in the same room as another couple (it's soft swinging). Whips and chains are not always used, people aren't always dressed in leather or latex and a DP isn't as common as missionary is amongst traditional couples. Seriously, it's not :)
7. Swinging isn't a big wild orgy every time, occasionally yes, just not ALL the time. Sometimes it's just an extra person and it's quite tame. Although my version of tame versus your version of tame could be a little different... Either way, it's not always as wild as some people think with the “money shots” going off in all directions, masses of naked bodies all writhing together in one big hot and heavy, sexual pleasure pot... by the pool or in the grotto :P
8. Swinging isn't a bowl in the centre of the room where people throw their keys and then just pick out someone for the night... Ewww, you never know who you might end up with! Hell no! Although I have heard of a group that do that just for fun now that they all know each other really well. Swingers generally pick their sexual partners, get to know them a little, have some sort of attraction between them before leading them to the bedroom for some hot passionate... well you know what I mean :)
Swingers are selective! Yes they have sex with other people outside of their marriage but people they are attracted to, not just any Tom, Dick and Harry. In most cases they swing together, not alone so it's inappropriate to assume that as a single person, you get the same privilege as you would is they were single.
The only thing you can be sure of is that swingers in general are happier in their relationships, are more adventurous than most, are willing to explore sex and their sexuality and enjoy sex with their partners as well as other people's partners, if the mood is right :)

Minx Drinks - Social Night Out
Minx hosted their first drinks night aimed at getting all the couples together to meet and socialise in the one bar. This was a public night out at a regular chic bar on Chapel St aimed at mingling and giving NEW couples to the scene a chance to meet others and ask any questions they may have had about the scene.
Minx grossly underestimated the interest in the night and our private area was suddenly full of sexy young couples. As the guests spilled out onto the main dance floor it didn't take long for the naughty girls to start wowing the crowd with their flirtatious girl-on-girl dancing and sneaking cheeky kisses.
Those that wanted a little more intimacy started dwindling off with other couples toward the end of the night but all up it was a great success with a turnout of 100 sexy melbourne swingers (and even a few from interstate!) who literally burnt up the dance floor!

Minx research the Queensland party scene
So Minx decides to go on holiday to rest and relax by day… and party by night. Where else would you go but the sunny state of Queensland, the state that has the reputation for being the party place to be in summer?
The People: We entered our travel plans into Redhotpie’s new Travel section and soon after started to receive messages and flirts from the locals. We made plans to meet up with a couple who were also travelling to the Gold Coast at the same time as us. We met with another local couple on a night when we travelled to Brisbane. Once the weekend came around we met a few more people at the local parties listed on rhp.
Everyone we spoke to online were friendly but a little less keen to come out and meet in person if they had never done so before. The crowd at the parties we felt were very different to Melbourne in the sense that if you didn’t approach someone – they certainly were not going to approach you. Most of the couples stuck to themselves but once we started to make conversation with them they were almost relieved to start socializing… just not enough for them to have made the first move!
The Entertainment: We attended quite a few venues while in the Gold Coast and Brisbane including Hollywood Showgirls, Players Showgirls, Toy Box Showgirls, Hooters (restaurant), Sin City (nightclub), Waxys (pub), Mirasoul (restaurant in Paddington, Brisbane), Minx Gentleman’s Club and The Cabaret Club.
For a fun dinner out you must head to Hooters! Great conversation points also if you’re with a couple that you want to get talking about girls. The mention for Mirasoul is because this is one of the best restaurants/bar’s that we have been to in a long time – the venue, service and food was absolutely amazing.
Head to Sin City on a ladies night for free drinks until 11pm – and Waxys for a laid back pub meal/ live music.
But the best of all was checking out the strip clubs. The first thing we noticed about the Gold Coast is again the stark difference to Melbourne – in the GC the prices are almost double for private dances, there are hosts who double as supervisors/ time keepers for the dancers and there is far less crowd interaction. If you prefer to watch the most amazing looking girls doing very little, head to Hollywood but if you prefer a more fun atmosphere with girls that are look a little more realistic (but still hot) head to Toy Box. The ‘must do’ if your in Brisbane and game enough to head into the valley is to head to The Cabaret Club – no other place offers $5 lap dances. Sure the dance duration is short (1 song) but the girls get to the point and get up close and personal (no 5 minute intro’s of them swinging hips and taking off their bra), they start topless, look amazing and leave you wanting more – and for another $5 you can have it again and again and again!
The Rhp Clubs: Due to the fact that we were only here for one weekend we only got to attend 2 clubs on a Friday and Saturday night. On a Friday night we dropped into Liazons in the Gold Coast. Unfortunately we arrived on what was a ‘quiet’ night as the hosts described that their big Christmas party was the previous weekend so we didn’t get to witness a lot of interaction but those that were there were very friendly and welcoming. The venue was quaint, and reminded us of a comfortable local pub.
On the Saturday night we headed to Brisbane to attend the Couples International members’ only Christmas party. The venue was set out great with private play rooms upstairs on one side of the venue and public play rooms upstairs on the other side. This was again another realization of how different the Victorian crowd is to the Queensland crowd. In Queensland people are more private, closed doors when playing, strict rules of no interaction unless formally invited. In Victoria there is a lot more public play. The ‘members’ of the club also didn’t seem to all interact very much. Most couples sat in their pairs awkwardly waiting for someone to start a conversation with them and not many looked comfortable. We started a few conversations with some sexy young couples who told us that out of four visits to the club they’d only ever chatted to another member once! If these guys were in Victoria they’d surely have dates lined up every week with eager couples. Regardless, we got ventured upstairs to the public play area and soon had the bed filled with 2 other young couples playing, girls kissing and pleasuring each other while the keen crowd gathered to watch the ‘show’.
Overall: We had a great time but if you’re not willing to initiate the conversations and socialize then don’t expect others to. If you’re from Queensland and your reading this then I suggest you get out and meet some rhp couples – even for a drink at a bar… it’s not as scary as you think and you will be surprised how much fun it is. If you’re reading this and you’re travelling to Queensland I strongly recommend that if you plan to meet couples – you should start chatting to them online beforehand. If you’re lucky enough to plan your trip when there’s an rhp event on, maybe plan to meet up with someone whose local and already registered their interest in the event. Queensland may not have lived up to its ‘go hard party’ reputation for us but we think it certainly has a LOT of potential. Enjoy!

Minx Bad Santa After Party
It was that time of the year again when the party people got to pull out their sexy Santa outfits and decide whether they have been good or bad! The registration of attendance quickly filled up on Redhotpie for the Kat’s Bad Santa Party – which meant that Minx would again host the official after party for those sexy Santa helpers who wanted to party on into the night.
The drinking, dancing and swapping of candy canes at the Kats party left those filled with naughty idea’s hankering to leave for the after party. Guests to the after party were greeted by two naughty Santa helpers with champagne and music, and the room came alive with dancing and socializing followed very soon after with play groups in both of the two bedrooms.
Word had spread about the after party and all night the doorbell was buzzing with couples and single females eager to get inside and join in the fun. The lounge room entertainment consisted of a 3 way show of naughty Santa’s helpers playing on the coffee table, and the bedrooms and showers were busily occupied throughout the night with couples trying out some new toys on their partners and on their new Christmas presents… some sexy new play friends!
